BAYADA is committed to providing inclusive benefits that support our LGBTQIA+ community. Your benefits include coverage for same-sex spouses and domestic partners, transgender-inclusive medical care, HIV prevention and treatment, and mental health resources to help you and your family access the care and support that fits your needs.

Coverage for You and Your Family

Your benefits are available to same-sex spouses, domestic partners, civil union partners, and their children. Review the Eligibility page and your plan documents for details about who can be covered and how to enroll.

Transgender-Inclusive Health Care

Your Aetna medical plan includes coverage for gender confirmation surgery, hormone replacement therapy, reconstructive surgery, and mental health counseling. Pre-authorization may be required for some procedures, so check your plan documents before receiving care.

For questions about what’s covered or help finding care, call the number on the back of your Aetna medical ID card or log in to the Aetna online portal.

HIV Prevention & Treatment

Your Aetna prescription drug benefits include access to PrEP medication and antiviral therapy to help reduce the risk of transmitting HIV. Talk with your health care provider about these options, then review your prescription drug benefits or contact Aetna to learn more about coverage. Refer to the Aetna Pharmacy page for details.

Mental Health Resources

Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides three free coaching or counseling sessions and lets you select clinicians based on sexual preference or gender. You can use the EAP for support with depression, family issues, and relationship concerns, and additional counseling is available through your Aetna medical plan.
