Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

A Health Care Flexible Spending Account, administered through Optum, lets you set aside money from your paycheck on a pretax basis to help pay for eligible health care expenses.

How the Health Care FSA Works

Eligibility

Full-Time Office employees may set aside pre-tax dollars through a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to help pay for eligible health care expenses. Part-Time Office employees are not eligible for an FSA.

Contributions

You can contribute up to $3,400 per plan year in 2027. Your contributions are made on a pretax basis and are deducted from your paycheck.

Eligible Expenses

You may use your Health Care FSA funds to pay for eligible health care expenses, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, prescriptions, lab exams, and tests. For a full, searchable list of eligible expenses, visit optum.com/qualifiedexpenses.

Using Your Account

Use your Health Care FSA funds to pay for eligible health care expenses during the plan year. You have until March 31 of the following year to submit claims for eligible expenses incurred from January 1 through December 31.

Your FSA Funds

Your Health Care FSA includes a rollover feature, allowing up to $680 of unused funds to roll into the next plan year. Any amount over $680 must be used by December 31 or will be forfeited.
